Boa Esperança do Sul dobra quantidade de procedimentos odontológicos no primeiro bimestre de 2014
No ano passado foram registrados 786 procedimentos clínicos ante os 1.497 nos primeiros dois meses deste ano
A Prefeitura de Boa Esperança do Sul conseguiu praticamente dobrar a quantidade de procedimentos feitos em pacientes atendidos no Centro Odontológico no primeiro bimestre deste ano em comparação com igual período de 2013.
Entre os meses de janeiro e fevereiro do ano passado, foram registrados 786 procedimentos clínicos ante os 1.497 anotados nos dois primeiros meses de 2014.
Entende-se por procedimentos ações de obturações, extrações e limpezas realizadas nos dentes e gengivas dos pacientes.
De acordo com a coordenadora do Centro Odontológico, a endodontista Maria Fernanda C. Govoni, o resultado mostra que mais pessoas estão aproveitando o serviço público para melhorar a saúde bucal.
O atendimento é feito por uma equipe de nove dentistas, que se revezam nos três consultórios existentes no Centro Odontológico, serviço ligado à Secretaria de Saúde do município. Por dia são realizados entre 30 e 35 atendimentos, número que poderia chegar a aproximadamente 50.
“Infelizmente, registramos uma frequente falta de pacientes que não comparecem às consultas”, diz a coordenadora. Nesse caso, explica ela, a falta provoca atraso nos tratamentos dos próprios pacientes faltosos e prejudica outros que poderiam ser agendados nesse horário.
Porém, conseguir uma vaga para realizar o tratamento bucal é relativamente simples. Basta o paciente comparecer no Centro Odontológico, que fica na praça da Saúde, e agendar a consulta sempre às terças e quintas-feiras, entre 13h e 16h.
O atendimento acontece de segunda à sexta-feira, a partir das 7h. Para os casos de urgência, em que o paciente se apresenta com dor, o atendimento é feito no mesmo dia, bastando que compareça no começo dos períodos (às 7h ou às 13h) com os documentos pessoais (RG, CPF e cartão do SUS).
O Centro Odontológico também oferece programas de tratamento para pessoas com deficiência e crianças. Em breve, há planos para implementar mais especialidades. Pacientes que precisam de tratamentos mais complexos podem ser encaminhados para a Faculdade de Odontologia da Unesp, em Araraquara.
Prevenção — Neste ano, o Centro Odontológico pretende ampliar as ações de prevenção. A meta é realizar, em parceria com a Secretaria de Educação e o Projeto Saúde na Escola do governo federal, atividades educativas de escovação e aplicação de flúor em estudantes da rede municipal de ensino. O objetivo é melhorar os índices de saúde bucal entre a população infantil da cidade. Para isso, também será feito um levantamento, através de exame clínico bucal, nas crianças das escolas municipais, e partir desses exames as crianças serão encaminhadas para o tratamento específico.
A coordenadora do Centro Odontológico atualmente trabalha na elaboração desse projeto. “Aprender e aprimorar a maneira correta de escovar os dentes cria um hábito que levamos por toda a vida. Por isso, a participação das crianças é essencial”, explica Dra. Fernanda.
Repercussão — Ao ser informado do avanço no atendimento oferecido no Centro Odontológico, o prefeito Edinho Raminelli (PT) afirmou que, mesmo em pouco tempo, está sendo possível mostrar resultados na melhoria do atendimento.
“Se avaliarmos o histórico mensal de procedimentos realizados no Centro Odontológico de setembro para cá, é possível ver que esse avanço veio realmente para ficar. Hoje quem quiser tratar os dentes encontra um serviço de qualidade, totalmente gratuito e o agendamento é rápido”, afirma.
Edinho acrescentou que a saúde bucal é a porta de entrada para uma vida melhor. “A pessoa com uma boca saudável consegue se alimentar melhor, além de melhorar a autoestima”, diz o prefeito.
